The air was crisp. The sky was painted with thousands of stars. The road was empty. The mountains were deflecting a scenic view between the road and the wondrous milky way.
I had been visualizing a moment where I could capture the stars and milky way in the night sky. In Oregon, this dream soon transformed into
a reality. The milky way, shining stars, and the empty road, pulled this photograph together. The road with its unique feature compliments the night’s stars and galaxy.
Capturing this dreamy photography required meticulous measurements, timing, and lighting in a specific time of the year.
On an alluring midwinter afternoon, the mighty rocks, freshwater with different shades of blue, turquoise and the green coastline were all speaking to me. The clear sky allowed the focus to be shifted towards the water and rocks which gives a story to the imagination. This well-captured vertical photograph can be viewed many times, but each time something new can be both seen and imagined.
Some ships set sail and never return, then hiding under the covers of the dark and sparkling night. In Point Reyes, an abandoned ship lays under the day’s sun and the night’s stars. This spot had always spiked my interest as I knew of its potential and magical appearance revealed during the nighttime. There was a low tide and falling stars sparkling on this late night. The small haze of light from the horizon with the sky darkening as it progressed upward, produced a spectacular photograph.
The sound of rocks rustling as I drove on the North Pacific Ocean road slowed as I approached a sign that said “Sonic View” This caught my attention and as I followed where the sign pointed, it felt as if I entered a dream. Everything felt unimaginable and surreal. The warm yellows and sound of waves crashing made me feel a peace I had never experienced before. The clouds, full and soft, took over and appeared as if Heaven was coming down onto Earth. The world was still moving, but my world felt still.
