As I waited for the dull and somber clouds to fade, they soon became a part of the picture I wanted to capture. When the wavelength of light reflected onto the clouds, it brought the picture to life through brightening the atmosphere, darkening the powerful rocks, and displaying the water as a cool and still blue. The similar appearance between the calm water and silk clouds, both being smooth and leveled, presents an eye-catching contrast when transitioning between the water and sky. The aged and rugged rocks protruding out of the water with hills nearby made me feel like I was visiting all of my favorite elements at once.
On an alluring midwinter afternoon, the mighty rocks, freshwater with different shades of blue, turquoise and the green coastline were all speaking to me. The clear sky allowed the focus to be shifted towards the water and rocks which gives a story to the imagination. This well-captured vertical photograph can be viewed many times, but each time something new can be both seen and imagined.
The infamous border of New Jersey and New York, with skylines and city life, skyscrapers, and an active, never sleeping population. This skyline needed to be photographed no matter the circumstance. As I had set up my equipment on the Statue of Liberty Island, my hands turned to ice, and I could barely lift the camera since this photograph was
taken in January. Even with these obstacles and a few hours of waiting for the perfect scenery, this sensational view came to be.
With not only beauty but history, this photograph consists of the Ellis island where many immigrants including Armenians fled to in 1915 as well as the Brooklyn Bridge which was the first-ever roadway that connected Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Many things in this world pass, but the Earth will continue to move on. As I waited patiently by the river for the thick fog to move away from the viridescent hills, I watched and listened to a creaking boat that was anchored, spinning in circles. Just as the fog had cleared, the boat was facing the shore and as I snapped a shot, seven birds flew in to be
included in this photograph.
The way the world works by bringing the elements of wind, water, and season together is breathtaking. The deep blue water spinning the boat around, the air pushing the fog, and the seasons moving the birds through migration, all of these elements work and come together to form this admirable shot.
